Photographs – Documents of the past and present for the
future.
Award winning photographer Rob
Robbins returned to Terre Haute in 2003 after a 45
year period to a much changed town. “You can take
the kid out of Terre Haute but not Terre Haute out
of the kid.” An attempt is under way to photograph
many of the old buildings and features in and around
Vigo County before they are demolished in the name
of progress.
Robbins is strictly a digital
photographer and enjoys photographing almost
everything he sees.
Robins’ photographs have
graced the pages of National Speleological Society
publications pages and publications of the Nature
Conservancy as well as the cover of the programs for
the North Alabama Land Trust and the Wabash Valley
Community Band program covers for 2008 and was a
featured artist during 2007. He has won Second place
in a Columbia, Tennessee photo contest; a First with
the Wabash Valley Art Guild; two Seconds and a Third
place with the Covered Bridge Associate Art Show in
Rockville. Robbins also has a number of photographs
in the Wabash Valley Visions & Voices: A digital
memory project preserving the past and present for
the future at Indiana State University.
