Bio:Linda
P. Sikorski currently resides in south east
Illinois. She received a BFA at Southern Illinois
University, Carbondale (1975) in oils. After a short
eye-opening trip into the gallery circuit, Skiorski
found herself ill-trained in marketing and moved
into drafting, both Architectural and Industrial,
(1977-1994) as she felt it a more stable paycheck.
Though Sikorski dabbled in a variety of media for
the occasional gift, she did not return to Art until
2003; this time choosing watercolor. Sikorski has
taken workshops from nationally known artist like
Rotindra Das, Arleta Peach and Cindy Akin as well as
accomplished local artist like Dixie Peticrew, Paul
Spangler and Marilyn Kintner.
“My work combines my training in oils, like
precision, intense color, and tonal contrast with
the new things I learn daily. I am now willing to
know how much I have yet to learn. I believe I am
beginning to find an exciting new vision and find a
renewed sense of joy in beginning to see color
again. I hope you find memories of your own hiding
in my work.”
