Bio:
Essence of Nature – Warmth of Wood
Kenny Vermillion has been carving small wildlife
subjects professionally since 1983. With skill and
accuracy his artistry is the foundation for evoking
the essence of nature through the warmth of wood.
His sculptures have won numerous awards and are in
private and museum collections throughout the U.S.A.
and other countries.
The combination of woodcarving and painting may be
the most challenging of mediums. Accomplishment in
this field comes only from years of self-education
for you will not find it on the curriculum of any
university.
Kenny’s expertise and mastery are recognized by
other professionals. He is highly respected for the
level of technical excellence and standard of
quality synonymous with his name.
All practical aspects of Kenny’s sculptures are
wood. Leaves are not cut out and bent, rather each
twist and curl is carved. Structural necessities
such as vines are brass or copper. Songbird feet are
made by sculpting epoxy over metal armatures.
Featured in its natural habitat, the character and
dignity of each subject is projected with the
highest principles of good art. Exacting research
and meticulous craftsmanship harmonize to insure the
integrity of each sculpture.
Believably real, each valued creation adds unique
freshness to your collection and will be appreciated
forever
