Jane Lubbehusen

Bio:

Being retired and having the past eleven years to devote to painting has been a wonderful life.

I’ve lived in Terre Haute most all of my life; married to Dick Lubbenhusen; mother of three children and grandmother to six.

I began painting in the 1970’s but had to put it on hold for 20 years while I taught school at Rio Grande in Northern Vigo County.

But now everyday can be an artful experience while I pursue creativity in watercolor, oil, pastel and pottery. Creating jewelry enters in here and there, too.

"Jane Lubbehusen’s “Ball Gown” (above and at right) was the winner in the “Print to Apparel” wearable art contest hosted by the First Unitarian Universalist Congregation on Friday. The “gown” was made from the Tribune-Star and its advertising. The “Print to Apparel” project drew more than 20 entries. At right, Dave and Kim Parsons look over Lubbehusen’s entry. Below right, Betty Vanderbilt sewed this baby dress and hat for one of her two entries in the wearable art contest.
