Bio:
“I have always loved the “Wabash River”. I have
spent many hours swimming, fishing, boating and when
the water was low I would drive my old Model A Ford
into it and have a washing party. At times the river
is a beautiful sight. I present a glimpse of a small
portion of it on a early sunny summer morning.”
James Dugger was born and raised in Vigo County,
Indiana. He turned seventy nine this last November
27, 2008. He became interested in art and oil
painting after an eighth grade field trip to the
“Swope Museum”.
As a young man Dugger worked for R.C.A. and went to
two trade schools and had two trade apprenticeships,
tool room machine, repair and electrician
respectfully. He then took drafting and machine
design through Purdue Ext. Dugger earned an
associate degree in “Electronic Communications
through I.S.E.
Dugger designed machinery for Chrysler and General
Motors . After retiring from General Motors, Dugger
returned to his passion for painting. He took
lessons on wet on wet oil paintings for one year,
then studied under Sharon King at her Gosport,
Indiana for four years. He has painted
professionally for twelve years.
